Hi everyone –

Writing about oneself to sound appealing is one of the hardest things to write for me. It’s right up there with my resume but here goes…

For me books have been what my club members have mentioned to be, an escape. After breaking up with my boyfriend/fiancée of 10 years my world turned black and white and very cold. My main goals were to keep busy mainly with work and spending a lot time by myself diving into books. I had an obsession with Japanese anime which turned into an obsession with Japanese and Korean manga which then turned into an obsession with paranormal romances that was kicked off by the Twilight series. I know what some of you are thinking “oh my God, not another Twi-junky” but to me that book symbolized feelings and thoughts that I had not allowed myself to think about. This has allowed me to join the vast ranks of women that are enthralled with romance novels. I too, like Molly, am a romantic at heart and truly believe in happy endings if you choose to open your eyes to it.

When my cousin Marcia told me about the book club I just couldn’t say no to the only love that I have had for the past 5 years – books! This club has been fantastic, not just discussing the books that each of us has grown to love enough to share but also the discussions of life and the true testaments of love that Molly & Gabriela have shared with me again re-affirming that if you are open and allow love to grow in your heart again it is possible.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of this book club I have started a new relationship which so far has been fantastic, amazing, wonderful and everything that deep down I have always wanted but somewhere in the last 15 years stopped dreaming about. I am continuing to love books and conversations filled with love, life and everything in between here at Reading & Winen.

Enjoy! Much love - Gracia
