I've known these wonderful ladies
Gabriela, Letty & Marcia since high school. It was a small high school and
we had our share of fun there. Some experiences are meant to daydream about,
certainly not to write about. LOL! No worries ladies, not spilling any secrets.
In most cases life gets in the way and we lost contact. Thank goodness for
Facebook & Twitter we found each other again. I have always been
dying to be part of a book club. Why? Well my fixation with book clubs began
ever since I saw the movie "The Jane Austen Book Club". Seeing how
different women can view the same book differently was fascinating to me. In
the movie, not only did they discuss the books, they had potlucks, wine, lots
of wine, plus they would "Bitch" about their life issues. I need that
kind of sisterhood in my life. Don't get me wrong I have friends but the bond
of reading and sharing is unexplainable. I yearned for that dynamic of reading
and sharing. So through our fun/nonsense tweets we came to a realization that
we all craved to be part of a book club. Our first meting was in February and
it was the best decision ever!
A little bit of who I am. On a
perfect day my hair is fabulous, my nail polish is impeccable and I'm sporting
blood red lips. Which isn't the case 99.9% of the time. So back to
reality...I'm a 35 year old housewife, mom of 3 great kids and a daydreamer at
heart. I'm a passionate person, who at times is a bit neurotic/OCD. I can
become mildly obsessed with new hobbies. I use the word mildly loosely and
generously. LOL! I love to cook. I especially love to cook when it doesn't feel
like a chore. The joy of creating something mouth watering and delicious
thrills me to no end. Especially when I share it with people I love. I'm a HUGE
movie lover. My taste in movies is very eclectic from Little Mermaid, Cinema
Paradiso, Sixteen Candles, Top Gun, King's Speech, Pretty Woman, StepBrothers
to Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. Same goes with music, I am all over the place.
I should also point out that I'm trying to learn how to speak French &
Italian. Just needed to throw that tid bit in. No rhyme or reason, just
factoids. I'm a lover of Fashion & Style. The Oscars and Golden Globes are
my idea of a SuperBowl. I have an obsession with shoes and purses. Which I have
tamed down, sadly. My eyes tend to gravitate to anything shiney, glittery or
sparkly. My new obession is finding the perfect silver or gold charm bracelet.
Still in that quest. I have taken an appreciation of red wine lately. Normally
I like to drink white wine, amaretto sour, margarita or hefenweizen. As you can
see I'm just an ECLECTIC GAL. So now that you know a little of my background
let's move on to books.
My love affair for books started
with "Are you there God, it's me Margaret" and Sweet Valley High.
Don't laugh! We all have to start somewhere. Of course my taste in books
expanded from "To Kill A Mockingbird", "The Outsiders" to
"Tara Road" and the list goes on. I love how books transport me and
take me on a journey. I love to read Fiction, Mystery but my favorite is
Romance/ChickLit. I feel that the world is already a dark place. I don't need
to read about it also. The news does a good job of giving me a dose of evil
doers. That's why I like to stick with the romance genre. Plus I'm a romantic
at heart. What can I say, it's the daydreamer in me. Don't get me wrong, I love
my husband dearly but a little fantasy never hurts anyone. So besides being
married to my wonderful loving husband. I'm proudly mentally dating soccer
players, movie stars and book characters ie Christian Grey. What can I say, am
I busy gal in high demand. I try to give my fixations/hobbies equal time.
Yours truly, a lover at heart,
crazy nut in mind,
Ciao Bella...Molly
